About

Let us tell you about

The Heat Chief

My name is Jack Evans and I was previously an engineer for British Gas. I joined as an apprentice and learnt my craft over 12 years as a Gas Safe (657404) service and repair technical engineer – the last 5 as a lead technical engineer – in the Berks and Bucks area.

I’ve lived in Berkshire my whole life and have always worked in the local area, however, I reached a point in my work life where I wanted to expand on what I had learnt and provide a more tailored product for the people I work for and so after a bit of planning over the first half of 2021, I decided it a good time to start my own company, thus The Heat Chief was born.

We are now a year and a half down the line and have a fantastic customer base, with who I have thoroughly enjoyed working for. We have a good network with other engineers who cover the same areas and also with other trades such as electricians and plumbers, so even if it’s something we may not be able to help with, most of the time we can get you onto somebody trusted who can.

I strive to make sure I always do my job professionally, punctually, politely and reliably and try to use every job as a platform to improve. Having grown up around a family run business of more than 65 years of trading in Slough High Street, I was always extremely conscious of the importance of customer service and this is what I have tried to translate into my own business. I have found one of the most critical things in this industry is the communication between engineer and customer and I try to make sure we are all on the same page, from the initial phonecall, throughout the job and after the job.

I hope to succesfully continue and grow what has been built so far, into the future and to be able to offer people seamless and exceptional service that is a cut above the rest.

A rat had got under our floor and nibbled several pipes, one of which caused a leak in our radiators. I called at 1 pm on a Friday and The Heat Chief was there by 3 pm and had identified the issue. He returned on Monday and the gnawed pipe was exposed and replaced with a copper one by lunchtime. All radiators bled, and the heating is now working a treat. Excellent, reliable, and very pleasant so we will definitely be using this company again and highly recommend him.

Thank you!
